Womb Chain Air
Mahina Cup

Today marks not only a full moon but the last supermoon of the year.  This is the closest that the moon has been to the earth in nearly 70 years making it the biggest moon to the naked eye.  Taurus is an earth sign calling us to ground into nature and allow the earth to hold us.  Physically go on a hike, smell the flowers, appreciate the natural world around you.  Energetically find ways to find calm, trusting in mama earth to support you despite the tumultuous times that are nation is facing.  Anchor into the wild trusting in your animal body and gut instinct knowing that you are strong enough to handle whatever is being thrown your way right now.  Remember that you belong on this earth and allow that knowing to permeate through your body and offer you strength this month.
With this full moon we are launching our womb chains.  This is a project that I’ve been excited about for quite awhile.  Womb chains or waist is a tradition that comes from Africa, and many believe before that from ancient Egypt.  They can be worn over clothing as adornment, or as a private practice under clothes as a symbol of femininity and empowerment.  Traditionally they have been gifted to infants during naming ceremonies, gifted to young ones as they reach womanhood, gifted by a suitor, or worn during pregnancy to call bless the womb.  Womb chains have been believed to invoke blessings, power, and abundance to the wearer and can be worn as a reminder of a woman’s innate beauty, strength, or the intentions set by the woman wearing them.
I have been wearing womb chains since the beginning of the year and I’m so excited to share them through the website now.  They remind me of how sexy I am, it accentuates my hips, and it is a constant reminder to give attention to my womb space. The womb is our creative space literally as well as the space from which we manifest our dreams and abundance.  To design each chain I sat in prayer with my rattle as I chose the symbols and crystals to represent each of the four elements for the AyaPapaya womb chains.  Wether you are calling healing to your sexuality, seeking blessing for a pregnancy, or manifesting abundance into your life the womb chains can be a physical reminder for what you are asking for.
The Mahina Cupis a reusable, bell-shaped menstrual cup that is worn internally and sits snuggly in the womb, just below the cervix. Mahina Cup is 100% medical grade silicone, safe to use and easy to clean. I have been using the Mahina cups for years and I’m very excited to introduce these to the AyaPapaya site.  Traditionally moon time (when women bleed) has been a revered time of introspection representing both the life/death cycle and the woman’s immense creative powers.  I believe it’s important for us as women to be connected to our moon time, and the first time that I saw my blood in the cup rather then soaked in cloth I was struck by the deep red hue and how beautiful it looked.  Many women create ritual around their blood giving it back to the earth and offering prayers with it.  Some women even offer it to their plants and plants and watch them thrive.  Did you know that our moon blood is full of stem cells and nutrients?
